Yakima Valley MUSEUMJob DescriptionGuest Services ManagerJob Summary: The Guest Services Manager is responsible for the management of all front desk operations including responsibility for cash management, data management, report generation, and all aspects of administration relating to front desk activities. This position is also responsible for the sale and promotion of all Museum Rentals and management of the museum store.In conjunction with the Director of Development and Board Relations and the Executive Director, create and implement policies to improve data capture and efficiency, and improve profitability. Assist as directed with fundraising including cultivation of donors, stewardship of foundations, corporations, and individual membership, annual campaign activities and event management.Essential Job Functions:Guest RelationsThe GSM is responsible for and oversees all aspects the daily visitor experience, field trips, birthday parties, group sales and is responsible for creating a warm, friendly and welcoming atmosphere for all museum guestsResponsibility for all cash floats and petty cash. Maintain museum event calendar ensuring all relevant information is recorded. Be aware of staff schedules and their availability. The GSM is responsible for the day-to-day scheduling, supervision and management of all visitor service employees and/or volunteers.Assist in recruiting, hiring, and training visitor services staff, volunteers or interns as needed. Ensure adequate coverage based on business needs and be prepared to cover open shifts when necessary. Adhere to YVM human resource policies and regulations.Daily oversight of opening and closing procedures, coordinate breaks and lunches,provide coverage personally as necessary, collect cash deposits, generate daily reports.
