FTE: 1.0 Shift: Days, Schedule: M-F, occasional weekends Position Summary Applies principles and techniques of speech therapy and language development, anatomy and physiology of the auditory and vocal mechanism, phonetics, speech and voice science and principles and techniques or aural habilitation/rehabilitation. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Demonstrates competency in assessment of patient needs and development/implementation of treatment plans. 2. Supports and foster personalized patient care, incorporating cultural, ethnic, religious, or age specific needs of the patient. 3. Instructs assistants, technicians and students in treatment procedures to be utilized and provides supervision as needed. 4. Orients patients to treatment procedures appropriate to their age and needs. Informs patients of any potential risk during any procedures. 5. Establishes and instructs patient, family, and other caregivers in therapeutic procedures to be continued following discharge. 6. Administers, scores, and interprets specialized speech/language, cognitive, and swallowing assessments. 7. Meets established productivity expectations. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS Education: Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology required. Experience: Previous experience as a Speech Therapist in designated specialty preferred. Licenses/Certificates/Registration: Washington State (DOH) Speech Language Pathologist License required. Affiliation with American Speech Hearing Association (ASHA) required. Valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance required. American Heart Association BLS required. Additional requirements: Cell phone for use during working hours, car for travel to and from home visits during shift if applicable. Level of Business Knowledge/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Able to identify and report abuse. Knowledge of growth and development principles.
