Virginia Mason Memorial Referral Coordinator - Bilingual Required in Yakima, Washington
The Referral Coordinator executes patient insurance referrals, consultations, and diagnostic procedures relating to the clinic.
Schedules consultation and diagnostic appointments for patients per provider/assistant request and documents necessary information.
Completes requested forms for Medicare, the Department of Health, Social Services, Insurance, and specialty offices.
Obtain insurance authorization for appointments.
Contact patients to provide appointment date, time, location and preparation information for appointment.
Answers questions regarding patient appointments and testing.
Answers telephone, screens calls, takes messages, and provides information to patients about the referral process.
Responds to voicemails and/or messages from patients, and schedules as needed.
Exemplifies excellent customer service with patients, visitors, and other employees. Demonstrates courtesy, friendliness, helpfulness, and respect.
Consistently demonstrates respect for the capabilities, different cultures and/or personalities of internal and external customers.
Maintains and ensures patient privacy and confidentiality.
Takes the initiative to proactively assist others without direct supervision and to resolve problems with other departments and co-workers.
Maintains open and effective communication with providers and employees to ensure quality patient care.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
Experience: One year experience in the medical or health insurance field preferred.
Level of Business Knowledge/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) required.
