City of Yakima Department Assistant IV - Tahoma Cemetery/Public Works in Yakima, Washington

*Public Works has an opportunity for a department assistant who possesses exceptional customer service and written/verbal communication skills. This position requires daily travel between Tahoma Cemetery and Public Works.  *

 

This position performs a variety of responsible, administrative-oriented office support work of a consequential nature involving complex procedural or specialized substantive tasks; operates one or more types of office or specialized equipment in conjunction with the work; applies substantial independent judgment and discretion, and is provided considerable latitude in making responsible decisions, resolving unusual problems, and interpreting extensive guidelines, regulations, and policies in order to complete the work; performs related work as required.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Any combination of education or experience equivalent to two (2) years of progressively responsible office or secretarial work experience, which includes one year in a directly related job function.

 

LICENSESREGISTRATIONS AND/OR CERTIFICATES

Must possess and maintain a valid Washington State Driver's License; and acquire first aid certification within six months of position appointment.* *

The pay range listed for this position is establish through the City of Yakima's Master Pay Ordinance in accordance with the Municipal Code and/or the applicable collective bargaining agreement.  New employees generally start at step A with progression through the steps based on merit and successful performance evaluation.
