Job Details Job Location Yakima - West - Yakima, WA Position Type Full Time Education Level 4 Year Degree   Salary Range $22.00 - $25.00 Hourly Travel Percentage Road Warrior Description Position Summary: The Community Needs Assessor will be responsible for conducting in-home needs assessments for area elders and disabled throughout Catholic Charities service areas in Benton, Franklin, Walla Walla, Klickitat and Yakima counties. The Assessor will work collaboratively with all Catholic Charities Elder Services programs to ensure wrap around services. Responsibilities: Delivery of Services Schedule and conduct in-home client assessments throughout all of Catholic Charities service areas as needed Respond to requests in a timely manner Make recommendations and referrals to appropriate Elder Service programs Community Involvement Maintain good working relationships with local elder services programs Maintain positive relationships with community organizations that are sources of client referrals Office Management/Professional Development Maintain accurate and appropriate records on Volunteers, Stations, and services provided as needed Submit personal timesheet, expense requests, and reports, as requested in a timely manner Keep day-to-day office records and contact information current and accurate Develop/maintain professional knowledge and skills through literature review and by attending relevant workshops, training and conferences as the budget allows Maintain confidentiality according to program and professional standards Keep Elder Services Manager informed of all changes and major occurrences Participate in local, regional and State meetings Model good work habits, sound decision making and a spirit of collaboration between Elder Service Programs and Catholic Charities as a whole Staff Support Support Elder Services program staff as needed, including but not limited to recognition events Have a clear understanding of the goals and contract requirement of all Elder Service programs Perform other duties as assigned The following requirements are those that are normally required for performance of this position. Physical Requirements: This position normally requires that physical demands of standing, walking, bending, lifting or performing other work requiring low physical exertion, talking and hearing on a regular basis to perform the job requirements. These physical demands are required up to 80% of the time. Position also requires ability to drive with adequate vision and skill. Non-Physical Requirements: Education Bachelors Degree in Social Sciences or related field, preferred Experience Minimum of 5 years' experience with over 55 population, required Special Skills Strong communication skills including public speaking Strong organizational, record keeping, and office skills Ability to work independently Ability to drive prolonged periods. Ability to relate well with people from diverse backgrounds (religious, social, economic, ethnic) Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Suite Licensure, Registration, Certification Valid Washington State drivers license and agency minimum required liability insurance Employment is conditional upon: Being cleared by criminal background check and fingerprinting when required Excited about this role, but don't meet 100% of the expected qualifications list
