Career Development Counselor (FT), Yakima Valley, WA People for People, a non-profit organization, is hiring full time Career Development Counselors (CDCs) in the Upper and Lower Yakima Valley. The programs vary with the location. We are seeking counselors with the talent and passion to help low-income adults and youth pursue career pathways so they can move from poverty to economic mobility. CDCs serve as guides, mentors, navigators and coaches to ensure that those we serve can achieve their employment and life goals. Summary: Provides case management services to eligible applicants according to guidelines prescribed by the specific programs under which they enroll. This position utilizes a holistic approach addressing career goals, services needed to reach those goals, mentoring, business outreach and follow up to ensure that participants attain and sustain financial self-sufficiency. Starting Wage: $20.85 DOE (plus a comprehensive benefits package.) Qualifications and Requirements: Please see the job description for specific qualifications. Career Development Counselor Location: Yakima Program: Youth Program Description: A program focused on youth participants between the ages of 16 – 24 years old. Focuses on helping youth establish a career pathway and supports the youth through completion Provides assistance in obtaining a GED, certification programs, tuition assistance and possible paid work experience. Career Development Counselor Location: Sunnyside Program: Adult/EcSA Programs Description: A pilot program that focuses on helping more Washington families move out of poverty. This requires working with participants and families who have greater barriers to employments. By utilizing community partnerships, counselors provide wrap around services in order to remove barriers leading to self-sufficiency. Career Development Counselor Location: Yakima Program: WIOA Adult/EcSA Programs Description: A pilot program that focuses on helping more Washington families move out of poverty.
