Job Description Safety is the number one priority for Puget Sound Energy. This position requires participation in safety meetings, performing safety inspections, identification and reporting of safety incidents and unsafe conditions, as well as obtaining and maintaining required licenses. Ensures duties are performed in accordance with all regulatory compliance obligations. Warehousers at PSE receive, issue and maintain all materials necessary in the operation of the storeroom. Develop a complete working knowledge of all materials and there interrelated use and application. Process and maintain all materials management forms and records by manual or direct entry methods. Maintain a neat and orderly warehouse facility in compliance with all governmental regulations. They are responsible for the disposition of all materials through proper channels. Successful candidates must be knowledgeable and comply with all Company standards, policies, practices and procedures and State and Federal safety regulations as they pertain to the job. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: This job is considered "safety sensitive" as defined in RCW 49.44.240 and is subject to pre-employment drug screening that includes screening for the presence of marijuana and marijuana metabolites. Job Responsibilities Receiving- inspection, documentation, vendor communication and resolution, proper packaging teardown, labeling and storage Inventory and inventory control- maintaining records of issuances, receipts and other movements in accordance with department and SOX requirements. Keeping all inventory systems and data up to date with the physical stock, maintain master data as required. Review job, bulk and ad-hoc requirements to set and align stocking levels to maintain proper order quantities to minimize handling, overstock or understock as well as to support customer needs. Picking and Staging- selecting material ordered by customers, packing in a safe and protective manner, consolidating for ease of receive, marking and repacking as required Loading and Unloading- Load planning to maximize space efficiency while complying with DOT regulations for load distribution and other requirements. Operating forklifts, yard hostlers and other equipment proficiently. Unloading material in a timely manner and checking for accuracy of paperwork. Distributing the unloaded materials to their proper departments or areas Maintaining clean and orderly warehouse and yard areas Perform stores functions and other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Warehouser I Requirements: Applicant must possess a valid driver's license. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Experience including the handling, record keeping and control of a wide variety of parts, materials, supplies and equipment using a computerized control system. Operate all computer applications necessary for the job including but not limited to: Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook as well as the ability to learn new programs and applications as they are implemented. Be able to safety lift fifty (50) pounds consistently and repetitively using proper lifting techniques. Must be able to safely lift seventy (70) pounds occasionally. Be able to identify when equipment or a second person is needed to lift
