Schedule: Monday - Friday 11:00 pm to 7:00 am Histology Laboratory Assistant II is responsible for assisting the pathologists, pathology assistants, histology, cytology and or molecular staff as needed to ensure proper workflow of the departments: daily duties may include instrument maintenance/cleaning, quality assurance and data entry. This position may prepare specimens using specific technical equipment and procedures. You Will: Ability to perform support functions in the laboratory. Maintain equipment, instruments, and supplies as needed. Provide accurate and timely receiving and processing of specimens. Assist Pathologists' Assistants, Histology, Cytology and Molecular departments, as needed. Perform Sendouts laboratory duties. Maintain knowledge of current CAP requirements and State & Federal regulations Quality control data entry Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent: associate or bachelor's degree in laboratory science, preferred Competency with computers and MS Office programs Ability to maintain accuracy, especially with numeric sequencing. Knowledge of medical terminology. Adhere to HIPAA patient confidentiality standards. Ability to establish priorities and coordinate work activities. Laboratory experience preferred. Ability to work independently and efficiently.
