This position is responsible for the completion of all daily cross-dock assignments and for the management and development of all assigned personnel. This position will ensure cross-functional cooperation with other departments and facilities necessary for the successful performance of the business. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: (Management may amend or assign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time)Recruit, coordinate, direct and supervise all operational aspects of the cross dock at the terminal location to provide outstanding service to our customers, effectively lead team and recruit members, and maximize business opportunities. Assist with scheduling and oversees daily assignments to ensure quality control and maximum productivity of the cross-dock team. Lead and assist in the handling of all customer product that has been received or needs to be shipped. Coordinate and oversee the daily loading and unloading of all customer product. Coach and enforce safe working procedures and practices for a hazard-free workplace. Manage and train all cross-dock personnel. Establish or adjust work schedules to meet all deadlines. Supervise all cross-dock activities, trucks loading/unloading, receiving of vendor POs, and dock cleanliness. Performs cross-dock activities to include quality of customer product coming in/out, researching missing product, and proper pallet labeling of customer product.Other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Key Skills:Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel. Leadership skills and ability to manage staff. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to meet deadlines. Ability to delegate tasks to individual team members. Ability to solve conflicts among coworkers Ability to work in a high stress environment. Ability to exercise sound decision making and problem-solving skills.Education and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent is required. Minimum of two years of warehouse cross-deck related experience is required.Previous experience as a warehouse supervisor or similar management position is required.Forklift certification is required.Language Ability Ability to respond to urgent requests and different communication styles in order to satisfy internal and external customer alike. Must be able to push for resolution while maintaining positive relationships. Must effectively and accurately communicate technical information via written and oral communication, i.e. phone, fax and email. Physical Requirements: Employee must lift 40 lbs. on a frequent basis and up to 70 lbs.
