Express is actively seeking a Production Supervisor *for a manufacturing company in Woodland. *The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and relationship building skills in a manufacturing setting.

Pay Range: $23.00- $26.00 per hour

Job Description:

The Production Supervisor is directly accountable to the Production Manager to uphold the companies core values while continuing to develop our manufacturing and business systems. 

 

Essential Functions:

  • Ensures effective employee relations.
  • Provides employee coaching & development.
  • Resolves employee issues through problem resolution.
  • Balances quality, productivity, cost, safety & morale to achieve positive results in all areas.
  • Works to continuously improve in all areas.
  • Manages departmental performance measures, including visual controls & provides regular progress reports to Manager.
  • Maintains proper inventory levels.
  • Manages department priorities.
  • Tracks absenteeism & timekeeping.

     

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. 

  • High School diploma required; some college level courses in management and/or supervisory training preferred.
  • Minimum 1 years' experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Total Quality Management/Continuous Quality Improvement/6Sigma is preferred.
  • 2+ years' supervisory experienced preferred.
  • Proficient with MS Office products including Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Outlook and Teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead people & get results through others.
  • Planning: an ability to think ahead & plan over a 30-day time span & prepare action plans to achieve results.
  • Supervision of assigned staff, including employee hiring & retention, and timely completion of performance reviews, discipline & recognition.
  • Employee training & development.
  • Measurement of performance to goals & standards.
  • Quality orientation & attention to detail.
  • Inventory management.
  • Strong team player.
  • Can improve working conditions (safety, quality, productivity & cost) and increase subordinates' skills & capabilities.
  • Able to assist Production Manager in improving a system of production control, standard operating procedure, safety, quality control, and performance management.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations with poise, tact and diplomacy.
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
  • Work requires continual attention to detail in establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Analytical ability is required in order to gather & summarize data for reports, find solutions to various problems, and prioritize work.
  • Exceptional organizational skills required.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
