Construction Track Inspector Intertek PSI, is searching for a Construction Track Inspector to join our team in our Woodinville, WA office. The Construction Track Inspector is responsible for conducting jobsite inspections and materials testing. The successful candidate for the Construction Track Inspector position will be responsible for performing QC/QA inspections to ensure various constructed elements conform to project drawings, specifications, and material standards. Ability to understand and interpret construction plans and specifications is essential. Quick learning and strong communication skills are a must. The candidate will use a variety of technical, organizational, and interpersonal skills to document complex processes and materials and communicate with engineers, contractors, and owners. We are looking for problem solvers and self-motivators. Experience with one or more of these clients: WSDOT, Sound Transit, City of Seattle, Port of Seattle, King County, BNSF or other heavy rail owners is a PLUS. Benefits & Perks:

How you'll make an impact at Intertek-PSI:

  • Inspect Direct Fixation track construction
  • Inspect Ballasted track construction
  • Inspection special rail elements and rail geometries including crossover, cant, super elevation, and gauge
  • Inspect track plinths construction, road crossing, bridges, an other closely related rail elements during track construction
  • Complete daily inspection reports the day of inspection.
  • Performs a variety of testing, project-specific observations, and inspection duties.
  • Reads and interprets plans and specifications
  • Maintains and calibrates standard equipment
  • Supervises and performs complex assignments and work tasks
  • Attend project meetings alone without supervision
  • Maintains detailed documentation and data from test results
  • Communicates effectively with client and project teams
  • Must be aware of, and adhere to, safety practices and policies to ensure your own safety, as well as the safety of others who may be affected by your actions at work

What it takes to be successful in this role:

High School diploma or equivalent preferred

A minimum of 5 years of rail, construction, and inspection experience or combination off.

Experience with ballasted, embedded, and special track construction, as it relates to inspection, and testing services.

Experience on civil and transportation projects within the Puget Sound area is highly preferred

Experience with one or more of these clients: WSDOT, Sound Transit, City of Seattle, Port of Seattle, King County, BNSF or other heavy rail owners is a PLUS.

Strong in written, communication, time management and organizational skills

Valid driver's license and reliable driving record (required)

Preference to one or more of the following certifications: ICC, ACI, Nuclear Gauge, WABO, WAQTC, and/or CWI.

Must have Basic Math, Calculator, and Computer Skills

Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal & written communication
