Job Description

· Perform equipment installs, decommissioning, and moves (servers, network devices, racks, etc.)

· Install hardware in racks and cable according to documentation using best practices

· Upgrade device components (drives, CPU, memory, network card, etc.)

· Troubleshoot using diagnostic methods and repair server and network hardware and components

· Familiarity with command line / console / shell (Linux, Juniper, Cisco, etc.)

· Operating System installation, configuration, and troubleshooting

· Maintain asset inventory in an automated computer system

· Maintain internal documentation

· Create and update work orders in ticketing system

· Perform in-depth quality checks in all aspects of projects

· Work with other groups to identify areas to enhance uptime and reduce time to resolve problems

· Communicate work progress internally and externally (email, Teams, Zoom, Slack, etc.)

· Possibility of onsite work / travel (domestic and international)

· Other tasks as required by management

Skills and Requirements

· Hands-on experience with servers in racks

· Experience / Knowledge in a DC environment

· High School Diploma required

· Associate Degree or relevant experience preferred

· Familiar with data center best practices

· Basic understanding of server configuration, command structure, and network concepts

· Capable of lifting 40 to 50 lbs. equipment and working in restricted spaces

· Able to work in a climate-controlled environment for long periods of time

· Knowledge of trouble ticketing systems

· Strong understanding of Excel

· Able to work in a continuous improvement environment

· Effective communication skills

· Ability to work with minimal supervision null
