MOTOR VEHICLE MECHANIC (Diesel) will ensure the fleet of company refueling trucks are in service and safe to operate by performing repairs as requested by company management. The motor vehicle mechanic will also be responsible for various repairs on systems on the tanker portion of the refueling trucks.
Candidates should have a minimum of five plus (5+) years of documented diesel mechanic experience and be qualified to perform repair services for all mobile fuel trucks in the Maytag fleet.
The Motor Vehicle Mechanic repairs, rebuilds, or overhauls major assemblies of internal combustion trucks, tractors, buses, or automobiles. Work involves most of the following: Diagnosing the source of trouble and determining the extent of repairs required; replacing worn or broken parts such as piston rings, bearings, or other engine parts; grinding and adjusting valves; rebuilding carburetors; overhauling transmissions; and repairing fuel injection, lighting, and ignition systems. In general, the work of the Motor Vehicle Mechanic requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent.
