POSITION #331-CLS-10-18: Special Education Preschool Para-Educator Special Education 6.0 hours per day/191 days per year Salary Schedule : $15.79 -$18.47 per hour DESCRIPTION: Working within the preschool programs for Wenatchee School District with students ages 3-5 with disabilities. Position moves throughout the program and may be assigned to a variety of teams within the preschool setting. Responsibilities may include working one-on-one support with children with Autism and other disabilities. Provide teacher support with recess, workroom and collaboration duties. Other duties as assigned. *Building location subject to change based on student support needs. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum AA degree or equivalent (72 college credits) or passed Praxis test required. Bilingual preferred but not required. Prefer applicants who have experience in a preschool program with Early Childhood credential; training and working with the Picture Exchange Communication System preferred but not required. Ability to keep up with students ages 3-5; ability to sit or stand for long periods of time; ability to get down on floor to participate in learning activities with students; team player willing to switch and change as needed to meet student needs. Must be able to work with other adults and interact positively with parents. Attendance and punctuality are important functions of the position.
