CONTRACT RATE
Earn while you learn! Chelan PUD pays $19.76 - $23.24 per hour (based on education, skills and abilities).

JOB POSTING
JOB PURPOSE: Students have the opportunity to earn while they learn firsthand about the duties and responsibilities of engineers, analysts, and more in an electric utility environment. Learning takes place in a supervised environment and assignments include the following work areas:
Hydro Asset Management: Come be a part of the Generation Asset Management team, collaborating with experts from around the utility, uncovering insights and informing strategic decisions on how to maintain our hydro generating equipment. Support the asset management program by performing data gathering, entry, clean-up, analyses and report preparation. Work Location: Service Center, 203 Olds Station Road.
Energy Conservation: Students are introduced to the field of energy management to improve the energy efficiency of residential, commercial and industrial facilities and equipment. The engineering student intern supports the energy efficiency department's goal of identifying energy efficiency opportunities, determine their cost effectiveness, helping customers achieve those savings and documenting their actual savings. Student interns may also help the District evaluate various electric vehicle charging systems and programs. Focus in electrical or mechanic engineering. Work Location: Service Building, 203 Olds Station Road.
Hydro Engineering: Assists and supports plant engineers in their daily work, supports preparation of documentation for reliability compliance activities and prepares test procedures for electrical protection systems. Assists with control and protection upgrade projects at Rocky Reach and Rock Island. (Employee IS required to drive a motorized vehicle while conducting business on behalf of the District; therefore, a valid Driver's License is required at time of application.) Focus in electrical engineering or Engineering Technology. Work Location: Rocky Reach or Rock Island Dam.
Transmission & Distribution Engineering: Work on assisting transmission engineers with circuit design, drafting, updating system data documents with equipment ratings and photos, and assisting with various other entry level engineering related tasks. The student will get exposure to power system operations, controls and design.
System Engineering: Assist with data correction, database management of records, fielding equipment and performing minor engineering calculations.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Requires a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), or current participation in a Running Start Program and in senior year of high scho
