As part of a small, diverse, and hardworking team of specialists, you will assist with supporting and executing Blue Origin's trade compliance policies and provide related guidance to company employees for various spaceflight systems. In this role, you will support assigned business units through drafting and submitting classification requests, advisory opinions, and export/import applications to various government agencies, identifying export control issues and providing compliant solutions, developing and administering training, responding to regulatory questions, and staying abreast of regulatory changes. Travel up to 10% of the time is expected in this position. Responsibilities: Draft, submit, and manage export authorizations, including ITAR licenses and agreements, EAR licenses, and license exemptions and exceptions Conduct technical data reviews, and support jurisdiction and classification exercises and determinations Support development of advisory opinions and classification requests Execute Trade Compliance procedures and identify compliance improvements Advise, educate, and train internal stakeholders on matters related to U.S. export laws, including use of ITAR and EAR authorizations, execution of export policies and procedures, and technology controls Execute technology and facility control plans Help develop, maintain, improve, and manage tools to facilitate compliance including maintenance of procedures and internal databases Work with NASA to implement and ensure compliance related to U.S. export laws for Dragon cargo and crew missions to the International Space Station (ISS) and the Human Landing System (HLS) program Work with the space operations and space medicine teams to ensure astronaut and research work is compliant with U.S. export laws Conduct research on U.S. federal statutes, regulations, directives, and guidance related to U.S. export laws Qualifications: Bachelor's degree 4+ years of experience working with U.S. export control regulations Strong knowledge of the International Traffic In Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), including classification of hardware and technical data and drafting and submitting export authorizations Working knowledge of SNAP-R and DECCS portal systems Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum Desired: Comfortable working with a customer focus in a high demand environment Experience drafting policies and procedures Familiarity with classification according to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) Experience using Artificial Intelligence enable
