Blue Origin LLC SLD Software Engineer for Software-in-the-Loop Environment - Lunar Transportatio in Wedgwood, Washington

As part of a diverse and hardworking team of authorities in software development and engineering, you will support the development of the software-in-the-loop environment that will be used to ensure the accurate integration of the software products and the performance of our spaceflight systems. You will be implementing software to enable a 6-degree of freedom, all-software environment to be used for Flight Software Development, Flight Software Verification, Ground Software Verification, Mission Operations testing, and astronaut training. This work is essential to ensure our missions\' safety and success. You will work directly with NASA and our National Team Partners as part of the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program. You will play a key role in developing the Lunar Transportation system that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth. Passion for our mission and vision is required! Qualifications: Passion for getting people into space and back again safely. B.S. in computer science, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or related technical field 5+ years of proven experience Proven skill at deploying production distributed systems to Amazon Web Services or similar using systems like Terraform, GitLab, Docker, and Kubernetes. Strong and active development skills in C / C++ and Python Strong written and verbal interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with and connect with a diverse user base Deep solid understanding of computer science fundamentals like algorithms and data structures. Ability to tackle problems by writing efficient working code, even when given incomplete or ambiguous requirements Excellent attention to detail and strong task ownership, demonstrate pride in all work and willingness to perform low-level tasks when needed Desire to work hands-on, both independently and as part of a team, throughout the development, review, deployment, and support phases of the software development lifecycle Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum Desired: Master of Science in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related disciplines. 8+ years of proven experience in large engineering systems Experience with distributed simulation implementation standards such as HLA or DIS. Experience writing software that efficiently handles the production, distribution, and storage of large data sets. Experience developing software for hardware in the loop testing Strong debugging skills at the software/hardware boundary, and familiarity with software verification approaches Experience leading development of software simulation testbed for a complex physical system Experience integrating with NASA software simulation environments such as TRICK. Experience developing, verifying, certifying and releasing mission and safety-critical software systems that comply with DO-178, ISO 26262, IEC 61508, or similar guidelines. Experience with mission operations and ground data systems
