The role is part of the In-Space Systems Business Unit, which is focused on addressing two of the most compelling challenges in spaceflight today: space infrastructure and increasing mobility on-orbit. As a Guidance, Navigation and Control (GN&C) Analyst, you will directly contribute to the design, development, implementation and testing of Blue Ring GN&C subsystem. In a fast-paced dynamic environment, you will work closely with other GNC engineers to synthesize new algorithms, lead trade studies, perform analysis, implement GN&C Flight Software in a Model Based Development environment and work across subsystem boundaries to support integration and test activities. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Develop and implement algorithms and models for spacecraft GN&C and enhanced autonomy Own the implementation and test of embedded GN&C software using Matlab/Simulink and C/C++ Synthesize new advanced navigation algorithms involving Vision Based Navigation and other alt-nav technologies Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and analysts Contribute to the development of long-term strategies for improving GN&C system performance and capabilities Participate in the review and evaluation of existing GN&C algorithms, identifying potential areas for improvement or optimization Collaborate on the implementation of the software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop testing, on-vehicle functional testing and flight-testing for multiple vehicles Qualifications: B.S. or M.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Physics, Systems Engineering or related technical subject area with 5+ years of satellite/spacecraft experience Direct experience synthesizing and prototyping new GN&C algorithms Experience with analytical and scripting tools: Matlab, Python, C++ Ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced, dynamic work environment. Ability to perform data analysis using monte-carlo techniques and reduction and present technical information in a clear and compelling visual format. Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Desired: Ph.D. or equivalent in computer science, aerospace engineering, or related technical field with 3+ years of proven experience Experience in vision-based navigation, with image processing, and feature detection and tracking techniques Experience in the synthesis of state estimation algorithms and Kalman filters for spacecraft navigation Experience using version control tools such as git and Gitlab Familiarity with DevSecOps principles and CI/CD Existing TS or TS/SCI clearance to support National Security customers Compensation range for on site WA applicants is $136,800-$191,520
