Blue Origin LLC Cloud Security Engineer in Wedgwood, Washington

This role is part of Enterprise Technology (ET), where we're developing the digital infrastructure needed to build the road to space, with an emphasis on digital capabilities required to advance Blue Origin's mission. Enterprise Technology is the center of excellence for digital technology at Blue Origin, providing oversight and governance to align technology and business strategies. You will be a member of the Enterprise Technology Infrastructure and Operations team, which is focused on cloud governance & security, datacenter operations, identity and access, PKI, O365, storage, backup and recovery, and privileged access management. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Embed directly within development, operations, and administrative teams as a cloud security expert, you will deliver both timely guidance and robust solutions enabling spaceflight. Spearhead strategic security initiatives which have lasting impact on the defensive posture of AWS and other cloud services and applications. Assist our lunar team in safely landing on the lunar surface while doing it securely. Provide sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes always with an eye on improvement. Ensure that New Glenn successfully delivers customer payloads to orbit while upholding our customers' confidence in all aspects of cloud security. Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real-time, providing problem resolution end-to-end. Be able to drive important security decisions and hit the stop button to prevent cyber risk. Available to support flexible work hours to support various mission objectives. Regular participation in on-call rotation as needed. Minimum Qualifications: Diverse background in all aspects of information technology, CISSP or other relevant certifications Minimum of a B.S. degree in information systems or computer science, or equivalent practical experience. 7+ years' experience working in cloud, IT, SRE, and/or cyber security roles in administration/engineering. Understanding of AWS Security Hub, GuardDuty, Inspector, and other AWS security tooling. Experience with AWS network security architecture Experience with AWS IAM Familiar with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and related technologies. Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with strong communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
