Field Service Engineer

(Contract or CTH for Client)

SIGMADESIGN has collaborated with a production equipment manufacturing company seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to join their facility in Washougal, Washington. This company is a global leader specializing in the design, production, and distribution of equipment used for single-serve coffee and beverage solutions.  This position is contract to hire.

    Primary Function:

    The Field Service Engineer is responsible for delivering exceptional technical support and services to customers by proactively engaging with them to address technical issues, perform equipment maintenance, and manage installations.

    Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:

  • Proactive outreach to strategic customers to identify potential issues, introduce upgrades/new products, and strengthen relationships.

  • Participate in monthly Engineering & Tech Service newsletters

  • Field incoming service calls and follow up with customers

  • Help with refurbishing, repairing, and preventative maintenance of machines

  • Responsible for equipment installations, training, and re-training as needed

  • Introduce engineering services and equipment to prospects.

  • Coordinate with engineering team on large equipment builds and provide R&D team suggestions and customer requirements and feedback.

  • Document all services and billable hours in CRM and ensure prompt Invoicing.

  • Manage equipment parts inventory, product Knowledge Base, equipment technical and operation/maintenance manuals, and CAD or Pro-E schematics. Provide information as needed for sales marketing.

    Education and Experience: (Knowledge, skills, & abilities)

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, electrical, automation or related engineering field or Associates degree with applicable combination of experience.

  • 3+ years of experience in engineering, technical or field services or in related areas

  • Strong understanding of mechanical and/or electrical systems, with hands-on experience in equipment maintenance and repair.

  • 1+ yrs CAD, Pro-Schematics or similar experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical information clearly. Experience writing and/or editing technical and operator manuals a plus.

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively and efficiently.

  • Willingness to travel for field service trips (typically 1 to 2 trips per month).

  • Pass a post-offer background check.

    Work Environment:

    ENGINEERING: Standard office environment with normal amounts of office related conditions. Occasionally may be required to work in environmental conditions that emulate typical user environments in order to facilitate design testing and validation.  Occasionally may be required to travel as required to other facilities, clients or suppliers.
