Role and Responsibilities

Sr. Manager of Market Development

The Position

Currently seeking a Sr. Manager of Market Development reporting to a Regional Sales Director who will be responsible for developing and maintaining business relationships with existing carrier and dealer partners while developing new strategic business partners in organization’s top revenue markets. You will be responsible for driving sell-out and growing revenue in key accounts, as well as identifying new revenue streams to help grow the overall business, including the development of new channels. The Sr. Market Development Manager will be accountable to strategically/ proactively solve complex business problems focused around driving sales and market-share growth within assigned channels or geographic markets. You will lead engagement with internal partners, account teams and external customer partners in order to drive joint sales growth for Samsung and partner accounts. You will support the development of sales strategies and forecasting leveraging data and market insights.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Background/Experience

  • 12-15 years in sales and sales management across large geographies

  • Experience in small business development and SMB sales management

  • Demonstrated track record of leveraging critical data to support sales strategies and forecast opportunities in localized markets

  • Experience working with National Retailers and/or National Carrier Operators preferred

  • Extensive experience communicating cross-functionally, domestically, and up & down an organization both internally as well as with external customers/clients

  • Strong track record of people management including but not limited to development, coaching, performance management, and organizational design

  • Self-starter and willingness to take initiative and drive relevant revenue growth strategies across competing and at times challenging customers

  • Experience collaborating with and influencing senior executives across large matrixed organizations

  • Bachelor’s strongly preferred and advanced degree desired

Necessary Skills/Attributes

  • Responsible and accountable to lead and build localized strategies to generate revenue and increase market share across competing and at times challenging customers.

  • Leverage key insights and market data to develop and recommend specific and targeted sales programs and at time marketing programs to drive market specific revenue & market share.

  • Will own and lead monthly, weekly, and quarterly reporting and executive communication of program execution specific to Market and impact of initiatives to revenue

  • Through insights, relationship management, and solid business acumen will be responsible and accountable to identify, develop, and secure small business opportunities through carrier and channel partners.

  • Calculate and evaluate ROI to continually refine investment strategy in order to maximize resources

  • Manage a team of 3pl resources indirectly through partnerships and expectations management targeted at driving revenue growth through small business channels (SMB) a new growth strategic initiative

  • Calculate and evaluate ROI to continually refine investment strategy in order to maximize resources

  • Leverage micro and macro insights to develop and build local sales programs and present to Senior leadership

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Sophistication in communications, interpersonal relations and diplomacy.

  • Relationship management across all levels of an organization

  • Superior judgment, team management, budgeting, presentation skills, and the ability to work under continual deadline pressure required

  • Ability to work across organizational boundaries to build alignment and drive closure on issues

  • Comfort with ambiguity, able to navigate through uncertain situations and drive for clarity

  • Experience handling time-sensitive and confidential business information/challenges

  • Travel 50%-70% required
