As a Regional General Manager, you will think strategically and creatively about the client experience to ensure client satisfaction across the entire region.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Establishing and maintaining effective negotiation-level relationships with senior executives of existing and potential clients, internal stakeholders and strategic suppliers

  • Providing executive oversight of the regional portfolio, achieving regional financial targets and managing regional P&L

  • Achieving service excellence in delivery and operations, serving as the focal point of accountability and executive point of escalation and achieving NPS targets

  • Promoting innovation and growth to meet the changing needs of the customers

  • Driving renewals and add-on growth

  • Coordinating with Growth Office for new business to achieve growth targets and achieve financial targets

  • Partnering with Client Relations Executives on all new growth in their region; participating in the pursuit, orals, and implementations

  • Reviewing and approving account lead growth opportunities

  • Supporting DOA process for new business and account growth opportunities

  • Promoting Optum industry leadership by providing thought leadership and success stories

  • Collaborating on the identification and prioritization of product and service offerings

  • Leading matrixed teams to accomplish performance objectives

  • Promoting service delivery talent acquisition and development

  • Supporting healthy management and governance processes for the business

  • Supporting and championing enterprise-wide priorities and initiatives

Required Qualifications:

  • 10 + years of experience managing relationships with multiple external clients across different geographies

  • 10 + years of IT Services experience

  • 5 + years of health care technology experience

  • History of working with State government customers in the health care technology space

  • Existing relationships with State government leaders

  • Knowledge of the solutions and services being delivered to State government customers

  • Awareness of what is being delivered to similar customers in the State government industry

  • Experience leading technology initiatives of more than $50M

  • Track record of effective executive level communication, including formal presentation and negotiation skills

  • Demonstrated ability to oversee client deliverables and work in a highly matrixed environment

  • Proven organizational skills with ability to be flexible and work with ambiguity

  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time on a sustained basis

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience serving as a Regional General Manager

  • Existing relationships with State government leaders in the West region of the US

  • Residence within the region of responsibility (currently AK, AZ, CA, CO, HI, ID, KS, MT, ND, NE, NM, NV, OR, SD, UT, WA & WY)

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
