Your Key Responsibilities:
This position is an external client facing position with our Management Consulting Team.
As a Funding Compliance Specialist within the Management Consulting Team, you will be delivering asset, organizational, financial, infrastructure, funding, economic, planning, policy, and technology consulting services to local governments and utilities in North America.
The Funding Compliance Specialist will:
Work dynamically with project teams to identify best-fit solutions to complex business, strategic, funding, infrastructure, and operational issues, that involve elevated risk, with an emphasis on capital planning, delivery, and funding issues.
Support engagements focused on the enhancement of community capital improvement plan execution/delivery and assist/support the Stantec Programs team in various elements of capital planning, compliance, scheduling, tracking, and reporting.
Serve as a primary member of multiple teams at client meetings, including interactive use of analytical tools and facilitating workshops.
Support the project team with project management and internal and external document management. Implement streamlined approaches to administering project delivery.
Support the project team in interactive meetings with our clients to identify and analyze issues affecting their organizations and key stakeholders.
Meet performance goals and objectives as assigned, with respect to client-specific demands, stated delivery milestones, quality standards, project management framework, mentoring of junior staff, and all required training activities.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat Pro and other business systems required.
Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.
Self-starter capable of efficiently and proactively working independently as well as with a geographically dispersed team on multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong sense of Team. Always willing to step in and take on additional responsibility for the good of the entire Team.
Strong attention to details as deliverables are open to public review and scrutiny.
Willing to travel as needed. In the first year, travel may be up to 10%. As you develop your skills for success and become a crucial part of multiple project teams, travel requirements may increase.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, economics, statistics, data science, engineering, accounting, planning, or related fields are required. Master’s Degree is a plus.
3 years total post-undergraduate working experience related to planning, economics, asset management, infrastructure funding/delivery, financial analysis and working for local government agencies in these areas.
Knowledge of and experience with various funding programs and capital planning and delivery in a municipal setting for a wide range of community services
Direct work experience/history with local government agencies
Elements of project management experience, including preparing and managing project scope, schedule, team activities, communication, and deliverables.

Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):
Salary Range(s):
NYC $45 - NYC $66 Min/Max Pay Range(s) for postings located in NYC/NY
$40 - $58 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CO and HI and MD
$43 - $62 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in WA and DC
SF Area $45 - SF Area $66 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CA (SF Area includes SF, SJS & WLC)
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).
Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
- Washington state employees are eligible to accrue 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 40 hours worked except for Seattle employees who accrue sick leave in accordance with the city’s paid sick leave law.
