How you will contribute:

  • Develop a team of Account Manager through thought leadership, assessment of talent, providing constructive timely feedback, and establishing appropriate actionable development plans.

  • Lead through collaboration with Account Managers in building and leveraging strong partnerships with our wholesale distributors, MDLZ Customer Category Managers, and retailer chain owners/independents.

  • Manage the planning and selling process with Account Managers to our customers through the CMA (Customer Marketing Agreement) and DMA (Distributor Marketing Agreement).

  • Leverage available resources/scale to elevate executional excellence in Market Managers through KPI’s inclusive of: revenue, sales volume, distribution, share, new item speed to shelf, display placement, etc.

  • Track, analyze, evaluate, and develop Joint Value Creation based on consumer/customer insights, channel trends, and external factors.

  • Build long term win/win strategies that result in profitable category growth, ROI, RGM, share gains vs. ROM, revenue targets, special executional programs, new/core item introductions/distribution.

  • Interface with key customers contacts to assess current service levels, understand areas for improvement, and ensure complete alignment for retail plans to be implemented.

  • Serve as a primary interface between Account Managers and Director of Retail Convenience/Customer Business Leads/Mondelez’s HQ Sales organization.

  • Ability to influence both internal and external key stakeholders utilizing end-to-end thinking, fact-based insights, and thought leadership for 3-5 year out future plans.

  • Communicate and influence implementation of CMA, DMA, & KPI’s to enable superior execution within the western geography of the U.S.

  • Drive vision with execution utilizing a growth mindset to deliver KPI’s, scale, and collaboration that drives the overall team forward.

  • Passion for sales leadership, retail field presence, and people development.

  • Strong financial acumen, analytical skills, category insights, and organizational behavior.

  • Ability to adapt to change quickly, ambiguity, and critical thinking skills.

More about this role

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required

  • 6+ years of total retail sales leadership, sales experience, customer category experience, and preference to individuals with consumer-packaged goods experience

  • Up to 50% travel/heavy retail presence required

  • This roles serves the western territories of the U.S. and the associated retailers/wholesale distributors in that area

  • Prior people leadership experience required

  • Strong sales background with excellent understanding of technology, business processes, and systems

  • Extensive knowledge of industry, category and/or Mondelez portfolio specific to category

  • Significant experience in building customer relationships, financial acumen, and business strategies

  • Location: Reside within the West region market

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $111,500 to $167,300; the exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. The salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results. Company offers a variety of benefits to eligible employees, including health insurance coverage, wellness and family support programs, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plans, paid leave programs, education-related programs, paid holidays and vacation time, and several others. Many of these benefits are subsidized or fully paid for by the company.
