Providence St. Joseph Health Senior Security Officer in Walla Walla, Washington
Description Receives general direction from the Security Services Manager or Supervisor Fulfills all the duties and responsibilities required by the Security team related to customer service and maintaining a secure and orderly environment. Performs a variety of technical security duties to protect patients, visitors, caregivers, physicians, property and facilities from unsafe conditions, physical harm, fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry or other criminal activity. Enforces Providence St. Mary Medical Center security policies and regulations. Investigate reports of potential criminal conduct as well as conducts internal investigations as directed. Responds to emergency situations and assists to de-escalate aggressive behavior or potentially violent situations. Assists in restraining patients, escorts unauthorized individuals off campus or obtains trespass orders as indicated, detains individuals when necessary or at the direction of a police officer, and provide protective services to high risk areas. Monitors security sensitive areas around the campus through rounding as well as camera surveillance. Effectively communicates with caregivers across the organization to respond to or follow-up on safety or security concerns. Participates in the planning and implementation of PSMMC workplace violence initiatives and provides safety training to caregivers. May be required to support any Providence or affiliated organization in a critical incident or disaster situation in the local service area. Required Qualifications: Coursework/Training Healthcare Security Officer internal training program including MOAB or CPI (management of aggressive behavior or crisis prevention course or equivalent), use of defensive tactics including OC/Pepper Gel, CS gel, handcuffing or other tools as approved by department manager as well as use of medical restraints. To be completed within one year from date of hire. Upon request: Driving may be necessary as part of this role. Caregivers are required to comply with all state laws and requirements for driving. Caregivers will be expected to provide proof of driver license and auto insurance upon request. See policy for additional information. Preferred Qualifications: Associate's Degree 3 years Law Enforcement/Security/Military or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in a healthcare setting. Why Join Providence?
