About the Position: This position is part of the Reemployed Annuitants Cadre. Employees occupying these positions will provide emergency support to disaster stricken areas throughout the United States. Employee must pass a stringent medical screening and be prepared to live and work in extremely austere conditions. This position is a temp position for 1 year, however at the discretion of management the position may be converted to a term position up to a maximum NTE 4 years.
Serves as Program Manager with responsibility for exercising management and operational control over assigned programs within the organization.
Manages work in an organization with responsibility for overseeing development of the Corps' natural disaster and emergency program under which the Corps provides assistance to non-Department of Defense entities.
Manages program funds to ensure effective and efficient utilization.
Develops, and interprets Corps policies regarding assigned program areas.
Provides coordination with HQ, USACE staff and command group, USACE-wide management/staff, HQDA and DOD staffs, private contractors, and other Federal Agency staffs.

Specialized experience must demonstrate knowledge and an in-depth understanding of the mission objectives, apply an extensive knowledge of effective management principles and practices in conjunction with policies, regulations, and procedures of the natural disaster and emergency programs, provide knowledge of principles, concepts, and methodology, knowledge of data collection and analysis techniques to support trend analysis, review and manage assigned program development activities, program accounts, and projects. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
