City of Walla Walla Library Technician in Walla Walla, Washington

Library Technician

Part-Time -- 30 Hours/Week

Will include evening and rotating Saturday shifts.

Salary Range: $23.389 - $29.851/hour

Closing Date: Open Until Filled

The City of Walla Walla offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, vision, and dental health insurance. City paid $50,000 Life/Accidental Death & Dismemberment insurance plus voluntary Life and Long-Term Disability. Washington State Public Employees Retirement Program (PERS) II/III. City match up to 3.5% of base salary for deferred compensation (457(b)). 3% bilingual Spanish premium. Generous vacation leave, sick leave, and eleven (11) paid holidays plus 32-hour floating holidays annually.

[NATURE OF POSITION:]{.underline}

Perform a variety of standard library and clerical duties to assist patrons; process new and edit existing library materials; within established limits answer patron requests for information, assist in locating materials and demonstrate proper use of library materials to include online databases. Demonstrate proper use of and understanding of library technology; assist in the circulation and return of library books and materials.

 

[REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:]{.underline}

High school diploma, GED or equivalent,  plus two years of college-level training in liberal arts or a related field; and two years of library experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that would provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.  Must be computer literate and possess strong customer service skills.

Bilingual in Spanish.
