Salary Range: $27.151 - $34.662/hour

The City of Walla Walla offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, vision, and dental health insurance. City paid $50,000 Life/Accidental Death & Dismemberment insurance plus voluntary Life and Long-Term Disability. Washington State Public Employees Retirement Program (PERS) II/III. City match up to 3.5% of base salary for deferred compensation (457(b)). 3% bilingual Spanish premium. Generous vacation leave, sick leave, and eleven (11) paid holidays plus 32 hours floating holidays annually.

[NATURE OF POSITION]{.underline}

Perform journey-level maintenance and repairs on the City's fleet of light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles, public safety and emergency response vehicles, grounds and road maintenance equipment, construction equipment, trailer, compressors, generators, specialty vehicle bodies, and all associated systems that support the assignments within seven departments made up of 22 divisions; execute emergency mobile and on-site maintenance procedures and inspections; utilize a fleet maintenance management system and software to complete work order data entry and to view vehicle, equipment, and historic maintenance information. 

 

[REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS]{.underline}

Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school or equivalent and (2) two years trade school certification in automotive or diesel mechanics and (2) two years professional experience in automotive or equipment repair and maintenance; or (3) three years journeyman level experience in automotive, heavy duty truck or equipment repair and maintenance in a fleet environment including diesel, gasoline, and alternative fuel powered equipment. Valid State driver's license, and Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or ability to obtain within six months.
