Summary About the Position: This position is part of the Reemployed Annuitants Cadre. Employees occupying these positions will provide emergency support to disaster-stricken areas throughout the United States. This position is a temporary position not to exceed (NTE) 1-year, however, at the discretion of management, the position may be converted to a term position up to a maximum not to exceed (NTE) 4-years. Responsibilities Serve as Senior Program Manager providing management and operational control over assigned programs. Provide emergency support to disaster-stricken areas as needed throughout the U.S. Interpret the agencies policies regarding cost and schedule control, applying an expert knowledge of effective management principles and practices in conjunction with policies and regulations. Develop standard methods and procedures to be used throughout the agency in managing natural disaster and emergency projects and funds. Prepare and interpret policy relating to natural disasters and emergency management, work authorizations and funds and other pertinent matters. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes1. Manage programming, financial administration of contracts, and automated data management systems for the organization. 2. Execute duties for basic and long-range planning, preparation, dissemination and maintenance of guidelines. 3.Maintain surveillance over emergency contract mission operation projects.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
