Above all, we believe that collaboration is the best way forward.Primary ResponsibilitiesBased in our Vancouver (WA) office, in the role of theStructural EIT, we'll count on you to:Maintain directresponsibilityforproducing structural calculations, checking structural calculations made by others, conducting structural investigations, and assisting in the preparation of structural drawings, reports, cost estimates and specifications for structural engineering projects under the direction of a licensed Engineer. Project types include water/wastewater facilities, federal/military facilities, mining/industrial facilities, waterfront/maritime facilities, and vertical building design. Most projects are located in the Pacific Northwest, but the Structural Section is able to leverage projects nationwide as workload requires.The Structural EIT will be expectedto coordinate workload throughout the lifecycle of a project, from preliminary design to construction document phases, and to complete documents on schedule. Work on assignments collaboratively with Professional Engineers but able to be productive with minimal supervision and demonstrate the ability to successfully work within multi-disciplined project teams.Work assignments may include tasks of varying scope carried out under the direct supervision of senior-level structural engineers. Perform other duties as needed.QualificationsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.Passed the NCEES Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.0+ years of professional experience.Strong skills in Microsoft OfficeWorking knowledge of AutoCAD, MathCad, or other tools for drafting and calculation preparation.Working knowledge of SAP2000, RISA 3D or other finite element software.Knowledge of the International Building Code (IBC) and referenced standards.Excellent technical writing and communication skills.Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage several concurrent project schedules.Excellent analytical and technical skills.Ability to interact with design and construction teams in a positive and proactive manner.Physically able to climb ladders and walk on scaffolding or other uneven surfaces for field inspections.An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture.Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. Structural Emphasis for degrees in Civil Engineering is preferred.Advanced AutoCAD skills are a plus.Working knowledge of Revit and Navisworks is a plus.Knowledge of ACI 350 is a plus.Knowledge of soil-structure interaction is a plus.Previous structural design experience is a plus.Previous experience writing specifications is a plus.Previous experience with structural investigations and rehabilitation design is a plus.Why HDRAt HDR, we know work isn't only about who you work for; it's also about
