Banfield Pet Hospital Sr. Director Marketing Analytics in Vancouver, Washington

Summary and Qualifications:

Support the product marketing, hospital marketing, CRM and Media teams with insights gained from analyzing consumer research, company data, and third party information. Oversee the data needs for all CRM and digital programs and supervise all consumer and associate research projects.

Analyze large data sets to find opportunities for product, program and process optimization and use models to test the effectiveness of different courses of action.

Create, monitor and continuously improve a broad and detailed set of marketing dashboards to be used across the department and company.

Essential Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. within self and team.

  • Drive business results with data-based insights, and work with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams; discover solutions hidden in large data sets and work with stakeholders to improve business outcomes.

  • Oversee the continuous monitoring of product performance, CRM, OWP and marketing spend and effectively communicate the findings to key stakeholders and senior leadership in order to maintain the strength and growth of the practice.

  • Build a center of excellence in CRM and OWP Marketing analytics by providing thought leadership in measurement, data collection, research and test/learn methodologies.

  • Using data analysis techniques and tools, manipulate and analyze extensive, complex data from varying sources, connecting findings to business initiatives which results in recommendations and collaboration with key stakeholders to implement changes.

  • Develop and lead a team of analysts, researchers and data systems engineers, managing priorities of team efforts to drive key business impact and associate engagement.

  • Create and use advance machine learning algorithms and statistics to deliver recommendations for business results: i.e. regression, simulation scenario analysis; modeling, clustering, decision trees, neural networks etc.

  • Other job duties as assigned.

Special Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work at a computer for long periods of time.

  • Project timelines and work volume / deadlines may often require more than 40 hours per week to complete essential duties of this job.

  • Must have mental processes for reasoning, remembering, mathematics and language ability (reading, writing, and speaking the English language) to perform the duties proficiently.

  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form and to solve problems involving several variables.

  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds.

  • Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity with the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard and operate necessary equipment.

  • The noise level in the work environment is normally moderate.

  • Environment where pets are present.

Experience, Education and/or Training:

  • Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or another quantitative field or MBA is required, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

  • Ten years of experience in Marketing/media analytics, CRM data and strategy, and Consumer research is required.

  • Ability to visualize and present data for stakeholders using a variety of tools (i.e., Tableau, PowerBI) is required.

  • Ability to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets using statistical computer languages (SQL, etc.) is required.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on product development and CRM strategy is required.
