PRODUCTION PLANNER

Job Duties

  • Develops and improves systems as they relate to customerrequirements and corporate goals, including order processing, capacity loading,capacity allocation, material movement and material disposition systems.

  • Analyzes production capacities (machine and manpower) toensure order fulfillment.

  • Reviews material status against plan and notifiesappropriate persons of at-risk orders.

  • Recommends and makes adjustments to schedules requiringcomplex problem solving skills and prioritizing of customer needs vs. availablecapacity.

  • Balance plan and reschedule as needed to optimize productionoutput.

  • Monitors orders and provides order status information tofield sales and customers until product ships.

  • Coordinates appropriate order correction and schedule correctionas required.

  • Assists with the installation of new processes. Gathersdata and conducts tests to ensure conformance to specifications.

  • Manages inventory levels to ensure the availability ofmaterials needed to meet production goals and meets current company directives.

  • Coordinates resolution of complex system problems affectingmultiple departments (i.e., Manufacturing areas, Tech Services, Accounting,Purchasing, Sales, Warehouse, IS).

  • Collects and tracks performance measures and prepares managementreports. Tracks OTD performance and prepares management reportsusing advanced statistical methods.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Experience in manufacturing production planning orscheduling. Knowledge of company manufacturing processes, productioncapacities, order management, product parameters, and quality systems.

  • Ability to handle increasingly complex issues over time andacquire knowledge of specific customer needs and production capabilities.

  • Excellent computer skills using spreadsheets, databases, andword processing software with high degree of accuracy.

  • Great interpersonal skills. Effectively workswith peers in a team focused environment.

  • Technical math skills essential to calculate capacities,schedules, inventory balances, and prices.

  • Adheres to company policies and procedures to completeassigned tasks.

  • Ability to work accurately with attention to detail and ableto meet strict deadlines.

  • Demonstrated planning, organizational, and project managementskills.

  • Willing to work overtime as required.

Desired Skills/Education/Experience

  • Associate’s Degree preferred

  • Prefer advanced skills in Excel, including the capability todebug and program macros
