We are currently recruiting for a dedicated, motivated and technically-savvy Process Control Engineer at our Kalama, WA plant. This is an excellent opportunity to build a long-term career with a great company.Duties/Responsibilities:The Process Control Engineer is responsible for providing process control engineering support for plant operation and strategic initiatives including process optimization, energy efficiency, Safety Instrumented System (SIS) lifecycle management, project support, and operational technology cyber security.Provide day-to-day support to ensure that operational, environmental and compliance needs of the facility are achieved.Optimize plant processes through automation, control schemes and tuning adjustments.Maintain and configure the distributed control system (DCS), programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and other control systems utilizing structured text, sequential logic and function block programming.Administer the historical data acquisition system including calculation of plant efficiencies, creation of historical process data records and configuration of OPC communication.Provide engineering support for sizing, specification, and preventive maintenance of field instrumentation including flow meters, temperature, pressure and level transmitters, control valves, etc.Manage instrumentation and controls projects and lead project activities such as project submittal, scope definition, detailed engineering, commissioning, loop check and as-builting of engineered drawings.Maintain and support Process Safety Management programs including mechanical integrity, process hazard analysis, layers of protection analysis (LOPA) and process safety information such as control narratives, loop drawings, instrument data sheets and piping and instrumentation drawings.Implement capital based improvements utilizing recognized and generally accepted good engineering practices (RAGEGEP) such as NFPA 85, NFPA 86 and IEC 61511.Implement Safety Instrumented System (SIS) improvements based on layers of protection analysis (LOPA) findings. Utilize SIS lifecycle documents including Safety Integrity Level (SIL) calculations, Safety Requirements Specification (SRS) and cause and effect matrix.Maintain operational technology cyber security through Windows OS patching, anti-virus definition updates and off-line computer backups. Implement repairs and mitigations based on recommendations from the cyber security and infrastructure security agency (CISA).Skills, Qualifications, Experience, Special Physical Requirements:Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering or Electrical Engineering with applicable experience.Minimum five years DCS experience in a chemical or manufacturing environment.Strong technical and problem solving skills.Ability to create and drive new programs.Proven ability to lead.Strong work ethic, high level of integrity and ability to work effectively under pressure.Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.Demonstrated skills using verbal and written communications.Computer proficient with MS Office and other applications.Proficient in ABB 800 xA, Allen Bradley RS Logix and AspenTech IP.21 is strongly preffered.QualificationsSkillsB.
