About the opportunity:

Join HP's Global Privacy Engineering Center of Excellence to design, build and operate privacy protecting and privacy enhancing technologies across HP's global footprint and cloud data platforms. HP manages petabytes of data from 100+ million connected devices using state-of-the-art technologies. HP has a long-standing history of industry leadership in privacy and data protection and the Global Privacy Engineering Center of Excellence continues that tradition of leadership.

We are looking for an experienced professional to lead our efforts to inform and engage teams across HP to build privacy protections into the solutions, features and capabilities that they build.

The right candidate should have a good understanding of core privacy concepts such as the data lifecycle and scope of personal data. They should also have a baseline understanding of privacy laws and related requirements. A background in cybersecurity, risk management or auditing would be beneficial but is not required.

Your role will be to serve as the bridge between cross-functional teams including marketing, trust & Privacy, data & analytics and others.

You will develop guidance and training materials that will allow a range of stakeholders to understand and meet privacy engineering requirements and engage directly with a variety of teams to understand their goals and determine how they can be supported by privacy engineering content, guidance and tooling.

You will develop and manage communication channels and be able to effectively triage incoming queries to allow timely resolutions.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and translate business use cases and technical requirements into executable work.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to prioritize, plan, track and execute complex projects.

  • Foster collaboration across teams that collect and use personal data.

  • Cultivate and manage global internal stakeholder relationships to drive business outcomes.

  • Work with culturally diverse and remotes teams across all global regions.

  • Collaborate with Privacy Architects to understand technology choices, trade-offs, and architectural considerations.

  • Collaborate with Product Owners and engineering teams to ensure effective execution of partner requirements.

Experience and skills needed:

  • Experience with controlled software release processes.

  • Advanced data literacy experience to manage, cleanse, and manipulate data.

  • Excellent project management skills and ability to execute on multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Excellent analytical and detailed problem-solving skills balanced with a strategic solution view.

  • Demonstrated experience in requirements definition and transforming concepts into workable processes and engineering solutions.

  • Ability to effectively communicate across both technical and business audiences.

  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills for documenting proposals and making presentations.

  • Ability to work independently under a fast-paced environment and deliver results under pressure.
