Clark College Part-time Biology Professor - Continuous Pool in Vancouver, Washington

If these questions resonate with you, then we invite you to consider joining our Biology Department.  We value collaboration and are dedicated to guiding students towards the achievement of their academic and career goals.      Clark College is currently accepting applications for multiple part-time Biology Professor positions.  Applicants must be available to teach in-person in the daytime or evening hours. At this time, we are particularly interested in instructors who can teach Majors Cell/Molecular Biology, Majors Organismal Physiology, Microbiology, and/or General Biology.  The lecture rate is $85.48 per hour and the lab rate is $73.01 per hour.   This part-time position is an ongoing recruitment in which applications are collected year-round. Applicants must be available to teach the daytime, evening or weekend hours. Positions will be filled as program needs arise.   At Clark, we value equity, diversity and inclusion.   • Instruct Biology classes utilizing techniques and knowledge of the discipline that facilitate student learning.
  • Participate in decision-making processes by taking part in department and college committees.

  • Work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.

  • Effectively assess student progress and provide timely feedback.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and participate in relevant department activities that support the teaching and learning environment.
  • Effectively use computer applications (such as Canvas) and email for instruction and communication where appropriate.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Master's Degree in Biology or a closely related field (with significant graduate coursework in biology) or a closely related field.
  • Teaching experience.
  • Ability to work well as a member of a team.
