Umpqua Bank Organizational Development and Employee Experience Manager in Vancouver, Washington

The Organizational Development and Employee Experience Manager is responsible for overseeing initiatives, projects and programs that promote employee engagement and satisfaction and directly contribute to organizational health and effectiveness.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage organizational development programs and initiatives to enhance organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, satisfaction and performance; ensure alignment with the Bank’s overall vision, mission, goals and values

  • Lead development and/or implementation of organizational development strategies and programs either directly or via Human Resources Business Partners (e.g. new leader assimilation, leader and employee surveys and assessments, performance diagnostics and consulting, change management, coaching and team building)

  • Partner closely with organizational leadership and centers of excellence to ensure programs reinforce and advance organizational outcomes and culture

  • Manage employee experience survey; analyze and package results for distribution via Human Resource Business Partners. Provide thought leadership and strategies to enhance employee engagement

  • Plan and prepare communications related to organizational development, change and employee satisfaction

  • Manage submissions process to promote Bank recognition by external organizations and agencies

Job Requirements

  • Exceptional knowledge and experience in converting organizational development and effectiveness practice into scalable solutions across multiple levels of a large enterprise

  • Skilled at analyzing results, identifying opportunities, developing effective strategies and solutions, taking appropriate course of action, and communicating effectively at all levels of an organization

  • Ability to provide organizational consulting and employee engagement thought leadership

  • Experience with change management, succession planning, leadership development, learning and development, and engagement programs

  • Ability to build relationships at all levels, including senior leadership

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including consulting, influencing, conflict resolution and presentations skills

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding, constantly changing environment

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and initiatives concurrently

  • Data analysis and interpretation; ability to turn information into programmatic deliverables

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years in organizational development/engagement initiatives and programs, tools, and techniques; OD certification preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in organizational development, employee experience/engagement, and/or program management

Preferred Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience in organizational development/engagement initiatives and programs, tools, and techniques; OD certification preferred, coaching certification desirable

  • Experience in banking or retail environment

  • Master’s degree with emphasis in organizational development, human resources, or education

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Work involves:

Office environment -- no specific or unusual physical or environmental demands.

Occasional travel.
