PeaceHealth has a .6 FTE opportunity for an Optometrist at Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver, Washington (Portland metro). From routine eye exams to complex eye care, PeaceHealth Medical Group Eye Care uses the latest technology to provide superior patient experiences. We provide a complete range of eye care services from routine exams to medical and surgical eye care for patients of all ages.

Job Summary

Responsible for providing independent primary care specializing in the examination, diagnosis, treatment and management of diseases and disorders of the visual systems, the eye and associated structures as well as the diagnosis of related systemic conditions.

Essential Functions

  • Provides direct patient care in inpatient and outpatient settings.

  • Evaluates medical and surgical histories.

  • Assesses visual and refractive statues, measures intraocular pressure, and examines the eye and adnexa.

  • Performs necessary diagnostic procedures and clinical tests, interprets results, determines treatment plan, and discusses with patient.

  • Performs local anesthesia and surgical procedures.

  • Prescribes and administers various ocular and systemic medications.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

  • Doctor of Optometry Required: . from an approved/accredited U.S. training organization

Experience

Credentials

  • Required : Doctor of Optometry licensure - Washington and/or ability to obtain during onboarding.

  • Required : Certification in the field of specialty

  • Required: BLS Certification

Skills

  • Basic computer skills including MS Office applications (Required)

  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written (Required)
