Thompson Metal Fab Office/HR Administrator in Vancouver, Washington

Thompson Metal Fab is a well-established veteran-owned heavy structural steel and plate fabrication business in Vancouver, WA. We are seeking an Office/HR Administrator to ensure the smooth operation of office and HR functions. This role involves managing office processes, coordinating various administrative activities, maintaining personnel records, and assisting with HR functions, including recruiting, onboarding, and employee support.

Competitive wages range between $23.00 and $27.00 an hour, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

 

Office Support

  • Oversee and maintain office processes, supplies, and systems to ensure efficient operations.
  • Coordinate meetings, events, and training sessions, ensuring logistics and materials are prepared.
  • Manage office correspondence, document organization, and general administrative support.
  • Assist leadership with administrative projects.
  • Maintain a positive and professional work environment by supporting office-related needs.

HR Support

  • Maintain personnel records and HR documentation, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Support the onboarding process, including new hire paperwork, orientation, and initial training coordination.
  • Assist in benefits administration, responding to employee inquiries.
  • Help coordinate performance reviews, training programs, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies related to employment practices.
  • Assist in compiling reports and maintaining HR metrics.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in office administration and/or human resources.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and HRIS/payroll systems preferred.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

     

Work Environment: This is a full-time hourly position located in our Main Office.
