Ankle and Foot Physicians and Surgeons PLLC MEDICAL ASSISTANT/PATIENT CARE COORDINATOR in Vancouver, Washington
Growing office serving the ankle and foot care of patients is seeking to hire TWO additional employees for its practice as we prepare to bring on a new Podiatric Physician. Candidate will be cross trained in both reception and back office duties for our four Podiatric Physicians and Surgeons.
Past experience in medical office desirable. Punctuality, reliability, honesty and a strong work ethic are requirements and the applicant must be able to work both independently and within a medical team. Applicant must be neat in demeanor and appearance and must be able to pass applicable licensing and background checks that are part of the State Medical Assistant Licensing process. All applicants must understand that it is a requirement of this position that any person selected for this position will be required to obtain the appropriate licensing after hire and these fees will be the applicant's responsibility as are future renewals.
Good customer service skills both in person and on the telephone are required along with a neat, tidy and professional appearance and pleasant demeanor. Applicant must be fluent (reading, writing, and communicating verbally) in English and must possess excellent computer literacy.
Applicant must also be able to communicate with proper grammar and punctuation for assigned duties.
Tasks will include (but are not limited to): - Patient scheduling - Patient intake and rooming - Answering and routing of incoming telephone calls - Data entry of patient information - Maintenance of Patient Privacy in accordance with HIPAA Guidelines - Assisting with and setup of minor in-office procedures - Pre-authorizations for special imaging and testing - Sterilization of instrumentation and monitoring - Maintenance of accurate and confidential patient records - Communicating in a professional manner with patients, referring physician groups and other entities with whom the office interacts - Taking radiographs while adhering to good radiation protection standards and protocols following appropriate training and certification - Phlebotomy for presurgical patients and additional testing - Performance of CLIA waived testing following appropriate testing - Performance of certain other diagnostic studies following appropriate training - Assisting physicians as needed throughout the day - Occasional assistance at volunteer and community outreach events
Please note: the position will require the candidate to work alongside other employees with identical training, so all tasks listed may or may not be required of the employee on a given work day. The list is inclusive of all skills he/she will acquire with the job.
PAY: DOE + Benefits
HOURS: Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm. FULL TIME
