Western Forest Products Log Yard Operator in Vancouver, Washington

Shifts: Mondays - Fridays, 8 hours, with occasional Saturdays.

Successful candidates will be subject to pre-employment and random drug testing as well as background checks.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Off load truck and rollout the logs in the scaling bay;
  • Load logs on the truck going to the mill;
  • Assist the scaler and buckers when needed;
  • Transport logs from the scaling bay to the log decks;
  • Sort all log's in the sorting bay to the proper length and grade;
  • High deck all logs decks for proper storage;
  • Drive the log truck transporting logs to the mill to be processed;
  • Work with a chain saw and splitter saw when necessary for bucking logs.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Capable operating large equipment, specifically Volvo log loader and Link Belt shovel, in a fast paced Log Yard environment;
  • Quality minded, positive team player, safety conscious and production focused;
  • Basic math skills;
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Able to effectively read, write and communicate in English;
  • Pass pre-employment and regular random drug tests.
