Neil Jones Food Company Juice Operator in Vancouver, Washington

The Neil Jones Food Company is looking for Juice Machine Operators* *at our Northwest Packing facility in Vancouver, WA. The Neil Jones Food Company processes superior quality, fresh packed, vine-ripened California tomatoes and Pacific Northwest fruit. With headquarters in Vancouver, Washington, NJFC has been providing our nation's discerning foodservice, retail, industrial and institutional customers the finest quality canned and pouched products for over 35 years. NJFC operates three production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA.  

 

Summary: Effectively operates juice department equipment to ensure the production of high quality juice products per customer requirements and company standards is achieved.   May be crossed trained in multiple equipment or juice disciplines.  Works year-round, subject to overtime and weekend work as necessary. This is non-exempt, union, part-time position (full-time during pack season, July -- November, part-time the rest of the year).

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Works with QA to ensure all products meets customer specifications. 
  • May collect and examine product samples during production in order to test them for quality, color, content, consistency, viscosity, acidity, and/or specific gravity.
  • Properly operates Juice processing equipment. 
  • May assists Juice Lead with other aspects of department operation. 
  • Maintains required operational parameters to ensure specifications of juice products

     

*Requirements: *

  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience, juice experience preferred.
  • Forklift operation experience preferred or able to be trained on forklift operation.
  • Able to lift, or push product on rollers, up to 45 lbs. and work in a fast paced environment.   
  • Able to stand, walk and climb stairs in a warehouse and manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and work extended schedule, weekends, and any shift assigned during the fresh pack season, typically July to early November.

*Compensation: *

The hourly union starting wage is \$20.80; once fully trained as determined by Juice Operations Manager, wage increases to \$23.08.
