We are seeking an experienced Welder/Fitter Fabricator at our Vancouver facility. Join our team:
Day Shift - WELD TEST WILL BE REQUIRED, BRING YOUR WELDING HOOD @ INTERVIEW
Purpose of Position: To weld, fit, fabricate and assemble components by prescribed methods required or as specified on customer?s blueprints and instructions. Meets quality requirements outlined in AWS D1.1 or greater. Provide guidance instruction for the development of welder employees.
Reviews blueprints and job specifications with a supervisor.
Sets up welder current amperage and gas flow to the prescribed settings for the material being welded.
Interprets blueprints to understand welding requirements.
Lays out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies before assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and tape measure.
Welds components together meeting AWS D1.1 standards or greater.
Checks dimensions and tolerances after welding and cooling. Uses industries standard methods to straighten, ream, and debur as required.
Provides technical direction and support to employees performing related work. Oversee moderate sized projects and tasks with support from a supervisor.
Participates in reassuring a safe work environment through best practice including promoting of all company safety policies, OSHA guidelines, maintain a 5S workstations.
High school diploma or GED required.
Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and welding, engineering and material specifications.
Must be proficient in MIG, FCAW and tack welding, and standard metal working tools.
Meets quality requirements outlined in AWS D1.1 or greater.
Must perform arithmetic and dimensional reading skills, and use a tape measure.
