Description
PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver, Washington is seeking an EKG Technician for a Part Time, 0.75 FTE, Day position. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $20.76 – $30.64. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.
This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement. There may be more than one opening on this posting.
Schedule: This position will be scheduled 9:00 AM to 7:30 PM on rotating days (e.g. Monday, Wednesday, Saturday one week; Sunday, Monday, Tuesday the next week, etc.)
About this position:
Operates electrocardiograph equipment (which may include treadmill tests, ECGs, Holter monitors, etc) to record the electromotive variations in heart muscle to provide data for diagnosis of heart ailments.
Performs EKGs, and may perform Holter monitors, event monitors and ambulatory blood pressure monitors on patient.
Processes and edits EKGs.
Charts confirmed EKGs. Records and files information related to tests performed.
Cleans, adjusts and performs routine maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
Performs other duties as assigned.
What you bring:
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
1 year of related experience preferred
Required Upon Hire: Basic Life Support through American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Preferred within 3 years: Certified Cardiographic Technician
Basic computer skills including MS Office applications. (Required)
Understand and follow verbal and written instructions. (Required)
Effective communication skills (Required)
Working Conditions
Lifting
Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH).
Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures.
Ability to move around area with occasional sitting.
Frequent reaching/ bending/ squatting/ kneeling/ grasping.
Lift/Carry: Frequently up to 15 lbs. Occasionally up to 20 lbs.
Push/Pull: Frequently up to 20 lbs. force. Occasional up to 30 lbs. force.
Environmental Conditions
Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles.
Exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals.
Time spent on site in medical/hospital setting.
Mental/Visual
Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).
Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
