Aerotek Cleanroom Reactor Operator (EPI) in Vancouver, Washington
This Cleanroom Reactor Operator position takes place in a fast paced production environment performing epitaxial growth and metrology processes for silicon wafers. The work is done within a cleanroom environment requiring operators to wear PPE including a hooded full-body cleanroom gown "bunny suit" with hairnet and/or beard net, safety glasses, face mask/shield, latex or nitrile and nylon gloves, and chemical apron. The cleanroom work area is air conditioned and well ventilated but operators can be prone to getting hot throughout the day due to the cleanroom gown.
Operators work 12-hour Shifts , 6am to 6pm for day shift , or 6pm to 6am for night shif t, on a compressed workweek, alternating 3-ON/4-OFF and 4-ON/3-OFF weekly schedule which requires working every other weekend and will likely entail additional overtime days when needed. Night shifts receive a 15% shift differential pay incentive.
Operators are involved in and responsible for following complex, detailed procedures and to complete documentation per specifications to meet daily targets on time and without defect. Operators must ensures wafers are processed according to specific customer requirements contained in computerized or paper work order. They will be cross trained to eventually become certified to rotate among multiple process areas within the department.
Additional Essential Job Functions and requirements include:
PHYSICAL:
Ability to work around hazardous and volatile chemicals
Able to stand and sit for long periods of time, within a 12 hour shift
Move, lift, carry, and transport items weighing up to 30 pounds each approximately 50 to 300 times during 12-hour shift
Able to exert up to 10 lbs of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects
Repetitive motion of wrists, hands and fingers and ability to apply pressure to and grasp objects
Dexterity to kneel, crouch, stoop, bend, reach and crawl as necessary for certain tasks
Perform tasks, while wearing personal protective equipment, to clean and organize equipment and the area, using mild chemicals, to meet clean room and 5S standards for that area
Operate a cart on wheels to transport materials and equipment weighing 20 lbs, up to approximately 400 lbs. by pushing and pulling
COGNITIVE:
Load and process material on the appropriate tools, using the correct recipes, according to the work orders and customer specifications.
Use a computer and peripherals, including keyboard or barcode scanner, to input data, track and confirm incoming and outgoing material, for each process step
Complete computerized forms to include process step documentation, lab samples or delivery of material requests, equipment work orders, and scheduling requirements
Perform daily checks of each process tool to verify all calibration data meets process specifications before releasing tool to production
Continuously monitor, analyze, and verify that all material data, process tool data, and all process set-ups are correct to meet quality specifications before moving material to the next process step
Interface with robotic equipment to lift, raise, load, unload, lower, and transport items
Mechanical ability to dissemble & assemble complex equipment using hydraulic tools, overhead cranes, hoists, stairs, step ladder, power tools, hand tools, and hands
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, computes percentages, per unit costs, and decimals using a calculator or computer software
VISUAL ACUITY:
Perform visual inspection of wafers, for long periods of time, in dark room, using bright lights with intensity up to 19.5K foot-candles
Be able to visually detect small defects, of 0.1mm size, on silicon wafers using enhanced lighting
Ability to prepare/analyze/create data through extensive reading, visual inspection of small parts, errors, defects, fabrication, words, and numbers
SAFETY:
Completes all tasks using safe behaviors, putting safety first and foremost and never puts safety after deadlines, other goals, or tasks
Acts as a role model in safety with co-workers and asks for guidance to ensure safety
Immediately reports all on the job accidents and injuries along with any unsafe conditions or situations
Makes reports to the supervisor, appropriate manager, or safety staff, incidents including damage to SEH-A property, accidents on SEH-A property, and maintenance requirements and repairs necessary to maintain safety.
Safely managing hazards of electricity of up to 480 volts per machine, high temperatures of approximately 350 degrees, mechanical crush hazards, and corrosive and toxic chemicals.
QUALITY:
Follows all documented training, procedures, and processes to meet quality standards
Always report and take action to prevent or stop variations, errors, or lapses in quality
Ensures quality issues are reported, corrected, and not repeated
Identifies and reports suggestions for improvement to supervisor or other appropriate manager
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Experienced, proficient, and accurate in the use of a computer, keyboard, and a monitor
Experience in software use, such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, E-mail, or other similar software is desired
Can operate a calculator, copier, fax, scanner, cell phone, and telephone
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Must have ability to speak effectively in English with management and co-workers
Must have ability to read and write in English
Ability to create, read, comprehends, and explain instructions, procedures, technical and informational manuals, reports, correspondence for self and for others
