Location: Vancouver, Washington * Type: Contract * Job #7773 Overview: ACS Professional Staffing is looking for an employee to work on-site with our client. This CAD Technician position will provide onsite drawing support for the organization's design packages, create quality drawings, conduct research using existing standards, and assist with pre-engineering calculations to ensure product accuracy. This full-time position is located in Vancouver, WA. Pay Rate: $23.05 - $32.93 Benefits: * Paid holidays: 11 * PTO: Starting at 10 days * Sick Leave: Up to 56 hours per year (prorated based on start date) * EAP: Employee Assistance Program * Benefit Options Available: Medical, Dental, Vision, FSA, DCA, LPFSA, HSA, Group Life/AD&D, Voluntary Life/AD&D, Voluntary Short-Term Disability, Voluntary Long-Term Disability, Voluntary Critical Illness, Voluntary Accident, 401k (immediately eligible for employee and employer contributions - employer match up to 4%) * Other benefits include the following: Calm App, Access Perks Responsibilities: * Use MicroStation CAD software and/or other software applications to prepare project designs, sketches, final / working drawings, and draft contract documents related to construction design packages. * Perform sub-system user file management within CAD systems, such as plotting, printing, storage and retrieving, and returning drawings from ProjectWise. * Review rough/preliminary sketches, drawings, specifications, and other engineering data received from engineers, to validate that they conform to design concepts. * Examine electronic schematics and supporting documents to develop, compute, and verify specifications for drafting data. * Provide quality design, layout, and production of engineering, electrical, electronic, and fiber optic drawings. * Perform necessary research utilizing existing drawings including that of facility, standards, plan, profile, hardware, and survey drawings as needed to prepare accurate drawing packages and/or to answer related questions. * Assist in pre-engineering calculations and research to control product reliability and accuracy for engineering, technical, and commercial applications. * Perform duties essential to the preparation of engineering design drawings for Substation Design, Fiber Optic Design, including details, assemblies, installations, and minor layouts. * Organize and analyze drawings prior to setup and discuss project complexity and time estimates with technical and managerial personnel. * Perform assignments requiring expertise in computer-aided drafting using MicroStation CAD Software, including 3D. * Assist with special projects such as various installation diagrams, structure modifications, design drawings, standard hardware details, and others as required. * Assist in the documentation of Substation projects by assembling bills of material, drawing lists, and other design documents from the design standards. * Travel to field sites to obtain and verify site-specific project layout information for the purpose of verifying design data and record revision.
