Qualifications:
Valid Washington State teaching or educational staff associate certificate
Valid Washington State Department of Health Licensed Behavior Analyst license
Current Certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst
Master's or doctoral degree in education, psychology, or other related field
3 to 5 years of successful experience in behavioral analysis and intervention, preferred
Understanding of current State and Federal laws pertaining to the education of students with disabilities
Ability to model and lead functional behavioral assessment and behavioral support planning
Ability to support staff in behavioral assessment, data collection, intervention planning, and intervention follow up
Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills for building an environment with a common instructional focus, promoting initiatives, and conveying expectations
Ability to design and deliver quality professional development for administrators and teachers
Outstanding presentation and facilitation skills
Demonstrated ability to communicate in a professional manner both orally and in writing
Demonstrated strength in organization, communication skills and efficiency in meeting deadlines
Experience in analyzing data to plan for instruction that supports all students
Demonstrated ability to function as a positive, collaborative member of a team
Demonstrated interest and engagement in professional learning and reflection
Preferred experience in working with children and families who are culturally, linguistically and racially diverse
Physical capability to respond to student in order to maintain a safe and supportive school environment
Demonstrated competency with data tracking systems, IEP development using computer supports such as Excel, Word, etc.
Ability to work cooperatively with students and their parents who are culturally, racially, and linguistically diverse
Advanced ability to use technology as an effective communication, planning, and instructional tool
Willingness to participate in professional development courses aligned with the school and district initiatives
Essential Functions:
Under the supervision of the Director of Special Services, work with school teams to teach and implement research/evidence based behavior interventions to produce positive behavioral change in students
Leads teams in developing interventions, functional behavior assessments and behavior support plans for the purpose of providing a safe and effective educational environment for students
Conducts descriptive and systematic behavioral assessments, including functional analyses, and provides behavior analytic interpretations of the results
Designs and supervises behavior analytic interventions with various school teams
Teaches others to carry out ethical and effective behavior analytic interventions based on published research and designs and delivers instruction in behavior analysis
Develops procedures and training materials for district staff involved with students with challenging behaviors for the purpose of enhancing programs for students and ensuring that program operations are in compliance with established guidelines
Conducts workshops, training, in-service presentations, etc. in positive behavioral supports, behavioral data collection, analysis, and support planning for the purpose of developing skills and establishing effective interventions for students
Collaborate with parents, the public, and mental health community for the purpose of supporting individual student development goals
Work effectively and cooperatively with students, parents, teachers, administrators, support staff, and community members
Supervise the work of staff members who implement behavior analytic interventions
Supervise and manage Registered Behavioral Technicians
Seeks the consultation of more experienced practitioners when necessary
Understand and use a variety of assistive technologies and programs
Participate in personal ongoing professional development, including 24 hours of acceptable continuing education every three years for recertification
Maintain student records and confidentiality
Meet district, state and federal timelines and legal requirements
Works in a flexible and cooperative manner
Treats co-workers, supervisors, students, parents, and others with dignity and respect at all times
Serves as a positive role model for students, and practices the behaviors that are expected of our students
Maintain regular and punctual attendance and hours of operation as set by the assigned building/location and the Comprehensive Professional Agreement to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the position to achieve program requirements
