Banfield Pet Hospital Associate Specialist, Medical Equipment in Vancouver, Washington

This will be a hybrid role based out of the Banfield Pet Hospital headquarters in Vancouver, WA. Remote candidates who meet all requirements may be considered.

Salary Range: $24.59 - $33.81/hour (DOE)

Summary and Qualifications:

Resolve malfunctioning medical equipment promptly and manage predictive maintenance programs.

Maintain operable hospital medical equipment by identifying necessary repair method, creating work orders, dispatching and overseeing vendors and/or providing replacement equipment.

Essential Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. within self and team.

  • Responsible to troubleshoot issue, determine correct path of resolution, select and procure appropriate vendor, schedule work and follow up with hospital to completion while recording all information in the SNOW system.

  • Make decisions to expedite repair requests including cost, vendor contact, hospital and Banfield contacts ensuring the hospital location receives repair in a timely manner.

  • Responsible to react immediately to repair high priority equipment to ensure continued hospital operations.

  • Manage planned preventive maintenance, repair and capital replacement projects nationally.

  • Submit purchase orders, approve, pay and track expenditures for hospital medical equipment repairs.

  • Respond and communicate to Field Leadership on all medical equipment repair and replacement inquiries and status.

  • Oversee assigned repairs and equipment replacement projects to ensure completion by Banfield maintenance technician and/or outside suppliers.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Commercial, Medicine, Hospital Maintenance, HSE, Operations, Help Desk, Imaging Support and others as needed to maintain hospital operations.

  • Utilize COUPA/OrderRight system for creation of POs and payment of invoices.

  • Utilize automated phone system and email system for receiving incoming work and operate work order tracking system for all work.

  • Coordinate and communicate annual floor care work with floor care contractors, PetSmart and the hospital to ensure floor chemicals and access are available.

  • Analyze and submit for payment floor care invoicing to ensure accuracy.

  • Assist in the benchmarking of floor maintenance standards for all hospitals.

  • Document and track missed service and floor care service issues resulting in invoice credits from vendors to ensure hospitals are credited appropriately.

  • Other job duties as assigned.

Special Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work at a computer for long periods of time.

  • Project timelines and work volume/deadlines may often require more than 40 hours per week to complete essential duties of this job.

  • Must have mental processes for reasoning, remembering, mathematics and language ability (reading, writing, and speaking the English language) to perform the duties proficiently.

  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form and to solve problems involving several variables.

  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds.

  • Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity with the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard and operate necessary equipment.

  • The noise level in the work environment is normally moderate.

  • Environment where pets are present.

Experience, Education and/or Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical, Engineering or Facilities are preferred, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

  • Three years of experience in Biomedical, Hospital, Facilities and/or High Volume Customer Service are required.

  • A minimum of two years of experience coordinating, repairing, or working with medical/dental equipment in a veterinary or human hospital are required.

  • The ability to troubleshoot medical equipment through manufacturer repair manual or work experience is preferred.

  • Healthcare background (veterinary or human healthcare, pharmaceutical, etc.) is preferred.
