Pay: $60,000 - $90,000/yr. + commissions. Capitol Distributing is seeking a talented Retail Sales Consultant to join our growing team. This position is responsible for distribution sales to various convenience stores and other businesses in the Portland metro area. The Sales Representative will identify opportunities within their market, establish new customers, and build relationships with existing customers. The ideal candidate will be proactive in establishing business relationships through excellent communication and customer service.

Must reside in the Seattle, WA metro market.

What will I do as a Retail Sales Consultant?

  • Responsible for selling products, fielding questions, and resolving customer complaints.

  • Develop and build strong relationships with customers and vendors.

  • Establish a portfolio of accounts in the capacity of sole or primary sales point-of-contact.

  • Identity new accounts and evaluate profitability.

  • Service existing customers and recommend new production.

  • Provide sales presentations and generate sales reports.

  • Assist with merchandising and marketing materials for customers.

  • Attend company and customer events for business networking.

  • Regularly visit stores to provide assistance with various merchandising as needed.

  • Collaborate cross functionally across various departments.

  • Research and gain knowledge of industry standards.

  • Provide other responsibilities as assigned by company leadership.

  • Other duties as assigned.

    You'll be a great fit if you have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in related field preferred, equivalent work experience acceptable.

  • 3+ years of retail grocery sales or/and retail grocery merchandising .

  • Experience managing sales accounts and customers.

  • Experience in grocery or convenience store industry strongly preferred.

  • Experience working within CRM systems and best practices.

  • The ability to travel approximately 50% of the time across the Western United States.

  • An ability to work remotely from a home office in the Seattle metro area.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Proficiency in technology and Microsoft Office.
