The Water Resources Program *within the Department of Ecology is looking to fill a *Lead Permit Writer (Environmental Specialist 4) position. This position is located in our Central Region Office (CRO) in Union Gap, WA{rel="nofollow"}. Upon hire, you must live within a commutable distance from the duty station.

 

In this position, you will process complex water right applications to address water resource issues throughout central Washington. Your work will involve close collaboration with many different people and groups across the expansive and diverse Central Region, including other Permitting Unit staff, water purveyors, watershed groups, local, state, and federal agencies, Tribes, and the public. You will gain valuable experience mentoring and guiding junior staff and will also be responsible for the project management of our Targeted Application Processing in this region.

Telework options for this position: *This position will have flexibility of a hybrid schedule, empowering work from home and office, providing less time in traffic and shrinking your carbon footprint. This position will be eligible for up to a 40% telework schedule with the expectation of working in the office three days per week. *
