Reporting to the Director of Solutions Design and Project Support (SDPS), the Project Management Office (PMO) Manager hired through this recruitment, will be responsible for the definition and maintenance of IT project management methods, procedures and processes within HTS in support of the Department of Health. The PMO Manager provides oversight and direction of PM resources to ensure standard project methods, procedures, and processes are utilized for development of IT solutions. This position is the IT Project Manager for Health Systems Quality Assurance (HSQA). The IT Project Manager is responsible for providing IT project management needs for the HSQA division and commissions. These projects will impact enterprise wide capabilities and are considered medium to high risk projects. The IT Project Manager will need the skills to apply working knowledge of project management processes and principles to successfully implement and control the projects supported by the HSQA program. The IT Project Manager, in alignment with HTS and SDPS, provides technology solutions and project management in support of the agency’s mission, strategic plan, and the agency’s IT Portfolio. This position utilizes professional working knowledge of Information Technology and Project Management in support of the HSQA Division and Medical, Nursing Care and Chiropractic Quality Assurance Commissions. Under the supervision of the HTS Project Management Office Manager and with input from both the HSQA area and the IT Business Liaison for HSQA and the Commissions, provides expert level information systems and technology project management, project planning, consultation, and contract development/management for mission critical projects or enterprise systems that will integrate new technologies and/or impact agency-wide IT functions to include collaboration with other institutions or agencies. The position is instrumental in the development of cross divisional or interagency applications; representing agency-wide implementation philosophy at meetings; and helping ensure new applications are not deployed before they meet DOH security policies and standards. Currently, this position may be located anywhere within the State of Washington. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, telework (mobile-work) is expected. When approved to return, the incumbent will work with their supervisor to identify an appropriate work schedule and balance, including telework and reporting to the Tumwater duty station for work activities. Required Qualifications * A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Technology (IT) or a closely related field; and four (4) years (full-time equivalent) of professional experience in project management. * * OR * * * An Associate’s degree or higher in Information Technology or a closely related field; and six (6) years (full-time equivalent) of professional experience in project management. OR * * * Eight (8) years (full-time equivalent) of professional experience in project management. AND * Three years of direct experience directing/overseeing large/enterprise wide IT projects. Desired Qualifications * * A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Management Information Systems, Computer Sciences or related field. * Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. * Experience in developing Requests for Proposals (RFPs) Requests for Information (RFI), and Requests for Qualifications (RFQs), and in monitoring resulting contracts. *Application Process Intrigued?
